THE CRAZIEST TRANSFER OF MY LIFE
Dear everyone,
If these past weeks have been anything, they have been the time for me to learn and grow. Almost everyweek, something has happened that was kind of major. The first week we had Sister Teran come into the mission as well as our duo apartment turn into a quad. The next week, Sister Clinch got the worst stomach bug I have ever seen in my life and got rushed to the hospital. Then we had such a powerful Zone Conference and Zone Meeting together as we discussed how to be better missionaries. This week we had interviews and then emergency transfers because of a serious situation that occured within our zone.
It has been a time to grow and try to better step into my role as a missionary, STL, and as a companion. I have learned on a deeper level the love the Savior has for me and also the love he has for other people through all these things. Specifically, for this week, both Sister Clinch and I have really enjoyed seeing more focus in our work as we set a goal for our branch. We have been trying to increase the doctrinal foundation of our branch and just have seen so many blessings.
This week we were focusing on finding the members who could be leaders in our branch and were able to teach them and have a lot of lessons about Easter! The spirit was so powerful in these lessons as we explained what happened during Christs last week and why celebrate this beautiful holiday. We were able to also have exchanges last Friday and Saturday and were able to learn so much. Ultimately, the only problems we face were no branch council (its been a very long time) and also one of our friends moved very far from the church because his family didnt support him converting to this religion. It is impossible for him to join church in any capacity now.
With friends, we were able to get our branch president on one of the lessons with our friend who is very scared about coming to church, which went very well. Her name is Sena and she is such a sweet woman who could be put on date if she goes to church! I have taught her ever since I started serving in Ankara and I am so excited for her to make that next step.
I love you all and I am so thankful for the opportunity we have to celebrate Easter this week! I know that the Savior lives, that he loves us! I know that because of Him we dont ever have to be alone. We can return back home to our Loving Heavenly Parents.
As Sister Sorenson would say with the rest of my incredible friends every Sunday in college, I freaking love Jesus!
Love,
Kızkardeş Calder
