New Year, New Goals, and a lot more NEW

Hello everyone! I am going to be honest with all of you and tell you now that it is currently almost the end of P-day and I need to call my family, so this email will be short and sweet. I want to first wish you all a Happy New Year and tell you all how happy I am to know all of you! It has been interesting being away from home during the holidays but I feel so honored to be serving a mission. I have learned a lot this past year about who want to be and how I want to accomplish that. I have made some goals this year, but I don't have all the time to tell them to you, which I am sorry about. I had a wonderful time in Heidelberg this New Year and had some interesting stories that I'll have to tell next week! I also had exchanges with my trainer Sister Henderson this past week, which were awesome and it was so fun to see her and be companions for a day again! I'll end with a spiritual thought, which is a quote from Gordon B. Hinkley that I have heard from one of your emails to me actually! It goes like this, " I am not asking that all criticism be silenced. Growth comes of correction. Strength comes of repentance. Wise is the man who can acknowledge mistakes pointed out by others and change his course. What I am suggesting is that each of us turn from the negativism that so permeates our society and look for the remarkable good among those with whom we associate, that we speak of one anothers virtues more than we speak of one another's faults." This New Year, let us remember to love as the Savior did and have that be our ultimate goal. As we acknowledge the good around us and also inside each of us, we will find the happiness that comes from being true disciples of Jesus Christ. I love Him and I am so thankful for His example. I love you all and I appreciate all the emails from everyone!

Sincerely,
Sister Calder
